From the Superintendent

It is with great honor and pleasure that I welcome you to the 19th annual Clerc Classic basketball tournament at California School for the Deaf, Riverside!

As you may know, since we last hosted this event in 2010, we have constructed a new gymnasium (the “Cave”) in which this year’s tournament will be held. We are very excited to be able to have 300-plus wonderful and talented student athletes use this very brand new facility.

We also look forward to proving opportunities for all student athletes, coaches, and community members attending this event to create wonderful memories and make new friends and connections and strengthen old ones. Also, while people often think physical abilities and skills are what makes a great student athlete, that is not all. Leadership and team-building skills are also very important, and it is events like the Clerc Classic that provides all of our student athletes the opportunity to hone those skills as well.

For you student athletes: go and shine on the court! Most importantly, play to your heart’s content and have fun!

Enjoy the tournament to the fullest!

With Cubs Pride,

Nancy Amann
